Vision is very important for little Einsteins.
Check out these interesting facts*:
- 25% of grade school children have vision problems that limit their learning potential.
- Poor vision can affect the grades of even the best students if left unchecked.
- 20/20 does not necessarily equal perfect vision. It simply indicates that a child can see as expected at a distance of 20 feet. It doesn't provide any information about other aspects of eye health.
- Up to 60% of children diagnosed with learning difficulties have undetected vision problems
- Of those 60% mentioned above, the majority will pass a vision screening test (administered by a school nurse), emphasizing the importance of a complete eye examination with an optometrist.
Set your child up for success. Before your kids head back-to-school, book an eye exam with an eye-bar optometrist.
Eye exams are covered by Alberta Health Care. (Hooray – more dollars for back-to-school clothes!)
Children (ages 0-18) are covered for annual eye health examinations. A valid Alberta Health Care is required.
